I played on one of the Pleyel double pianos today which I never thought I’d get a chance to see, let alone play, in real life.

Me: I suck.
Me: I've only had this piece since Tuesday, I don't suck.
Me: I suck. Maybe I wouldn't suck if I didn't miss that day of practice back in 2007.
Me: *nails passage* WATCH OUT HOROWITZ
Me: I could play this two days ago. Why can't I play it now?
Me: Maybe I should take off my ring.
Me: I CAN PLAY AGAIN!
Me: *messes up* Nope it's just me I'm bound to be a failed musician I will never have enough money for an apartment of my own let alone a family.
Me: *cries*
Me: *meditates*
Me: *succeeds at passage* I can do this!
Me: *messes up* No I can't...

I saw this and was reminded that this harpsichord (Henri Hemsch 1736) is in good playing condition, and there’s a video of Peter Watchhorn improvising on it on Youtube.

WHY EVERYONE SHOULD PLAY THE VIOLIN
Hey guys, recently more budding musicians are interested in learning the violin and I myself, being a violinist, wish to encourage the positivity towards the violin.
1) Don’t be put off by the fact that apparently the violin is a “hard instrument to play” If you’re passionate and interested in learning, then you’ll totally get the hang of it easily.
2) It’s super easy to carry and transportable. If you’re always on the go or live in small spaces then this is the perfect instrument for you.
3) It’s easy to take care of. Every now and then you’ll have to apply rosin to smoothen your bow  change your string for a better sound quality and tune it but other than that it practically takes care of itself.
4) The violin produces amazing sound. Many people don’t notice this but usually, the soft and smooth background music in most songs actually come from the violin. It’s  great a instrument that can be played individually or as a group.
So what are you waiting for? Go ahead and get yourself a violin so you can release the inner musician in you.
